“The only way to become excellent is to be endlessly fascinated by doing the same thing over and over. You have to fall in love with boredom.” - James Clear

Welcome to my website!

I'm a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of California - San Diego, where I work on neuromorphic computing and correlated oxide materials. I study phase-transition systems like VO₂, V₂O₃, and other vanadates, exploring how their coupled electronic and thermal dynamics can enable unconventional computing architectures. My research combines nanofabrication, device engineering, and advanced thermal imaging to probe and control emergent behavior at the nanoscale - bridging fundamental condensed matter physics with next-generation hardware.

I completed my Ph.D. in May 2025 at the Department of Physics, Bar-Ilan University, where I explored quantum effects in superconducting nanostructures. My research focused on hybrid superconductor/ferromagnet structures and the emergence of triplet supercurrent driven by the long-range proximity effect.

My Goal

My goal is to bridge fundamental condensed matter physics with functional computing technologies by harnessing emergent phenomena in strongly correlated materials. I aim to develop adaptive, energy-efficient hardware inspired by the brain, where phase transitions, nonlinear dynamics, and thermal-electronic coupling are not limitations but resources. By combining precise nanofabrication, advanced thermal and electrical characterization, and device-level engineering, I seek to transform complex oxide systems into controllable platforms for next-generation neuromorphic and unconventional computing architectures.

Exploring My Website

I invite you to explore my research path, the milestones I've reached, and the new directions I'm excited to pursue. Whether you're here out of curiosity or to explore potential collaborations, your interest and feedback are always welcome.

Thank you for visiting - I look forward to connecting.

Warm regards,

Jonathan

What is this thing?

Welcome to the digital home of my brain. In the spirit of transparency and knowledge sharing, I'll continually share what I'm learning and building. Having started with a blank digital slate, this will remain a living, evolving space. Let me know if you see something that looks odd or incorrect.
